hey if you guys won't mind, please have the following link bookmarked to your web favorites somewhere. https://stockchat.org that link there is going to act as a secondary link for us to use for this site. if you're wondering why the need for a second link, it's mostly because of potential DNS issues down the road. not that i'm anticipating such issues to occur, but in the event that our main link is inaccessible due to DNS issues. that second link should always work for us no matter what. but if that one is also down then you can just assume that the overall server is down. i just wanna make sure that we are covered pretty good here with this site, and have a link to fall back on in the event that the main one is down for any reason. eventually i'll need to find a way to have my dns provider auto update the server's ip address when/if it changes. but for now, we'll just use that secondary link. a nice and easy name to remember i hope
BTW, @stock1234 just checking to see if you are also able to access this alternate domain from your PC. Hoping Malwarebytes and Avast aren’t blocking you.

lol my apologies for the odd looking link! the reason for this is because i’m running this alternate domain at a dynamic dns server. this is so that it allows me to use 2 separate ip addresses to use for this site in the event the main ip goes down for any reason. hence this new link should show you as being logged out on the site. this alternate link should only be used if the site appears down at the main link at stocksforums.com if the casacam.net link is also down then the whole server is likely offline. i don’t really anticipate us ever needing to use this secondary domain, it’s mainly for in case i’m not around to change the ip at the main domain in a timely manner. we can at least fall back at this alternate domain to get to this site until the main one works again. but yea you can safely ignore the weird looking link. the important thing is if it works for you guys. hoping it does. let me know. thanks again!
@OldFart oldie, i just changed up the hostname to another name. so it should show as "webredirect.org" instead of "casacam.net" let me know if you see that now when hitting up the stockchat.org link. the end result should look something like this: https://stocksforums.webredirect.org/boards/index.php?portal/ sorry again!
@OldFart if that didn't work for some reason due to caching issues, then also try it with the "www" in the url. https://www.stockchat.org does that show the "webredirect.org" in the link?
awesome! also i apologize to have you guys keep checking up if links work. i know i’ve been changing up the site’s domain name a couple times in the past few weeks lol. rest assured that the current name will indeed be our permanent name (stocksforums.com). i also liked the stockforum.net name but i was admittedly really wanting to go with a dot com name. the dot org one will just act as an alternate name for us for whenever our main link goes down due to ip changes to the server. definitely save the dot org link to your web favorites because it will come in handy when/if the main link should go down for an extended time due to the server’s ip change. i don’t really anticipate this being a big issue for us in the future but it’s a nice thing to have for us to fall back on as a backup to the main link.
Last two links you gave out don't work on mine. I get this: Secure Connection Failed An error occurred during a connection to stocksforums.webredirect.org. PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR Error code: PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified. Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.
@OldFart oldie, weird stuff. not sure why that would work for @stock1234 but now it doesn't for you. i went ahead changed up the hostname just slightly to see if that would fix your issue. see if this link works for you now? https://stockforum.webredirect.org/boards/index.php?portal/ do you still get that secure connection failed message on that link?
also @OldFart see if you got the main link working again too. https://stockchat.org this is the one that has the funny "casacam.net" hostname. hoping you got it all working again.
@OldFart ah that's good to hear! i'm gonna stop messing around with the domain names now lol. i really wanted this second site link to work for you guys. if you all won't mind and just save that stockchat.org link to your web favorites. if/when the server's main ip address changes for whatever reason, that second link should always work for us. it's a nice backup link to have whenever the main link is down. if both links are down at the same time though, then just assume that the server generally speaking is down. thx for all your guys help with confirming that everything is working. if at any time the links should stop working, please do let me know asap. thx again!
